Schedule a College Visit
Who can go on one: Junior year you can go on 2 college visits during the school day that are certified and won't count against you. Senior year you can go on 2 college visits during the school day that are certified and won't count against you. You may go on more on weekends, breaks or that will count as an absence, if you choose.
How To:
1) Go to the college's website under Admissions. Select the option to visit campus and schedule your visit (make sure it is for a day you are missing as little as possible here at school and that works with your parent/guardian's schedule if they want to attend with you).
2) Pick up a form from the office or print one HERE and get it filled out by the teachers whose classes you will be missing that day (M/W periods 1, 2, 5, 6 only and T/R 3, 4, 7, 8 only and F ALL periods). Sign the form yourself and have your parent/guardian sign it. Turn it in to Mr. Wolford to sign. He will turn it in to Courtney.
3) Go on your visit. While you are there, make sure they give you a verification form that indicates that you came to the visit. (This is pretty standard BUT they may not just offer it so make sure you get one!) Ask a lot of questions about the campus and classes to make sure it is a good fit for you. Click HERE for some good questions to find answers to!
4) Turn that verification form into the office when you return.
5) Your visit is now certified and will not count against you.

Request a transcript
As part of the application process, you will need to request that your transcript be sent to the schools you are applying to. To do that you need to create an account on Parchment and request a transcript. To request a transcript, CLICK HERE.

Request your official Orleans High School transcript through Parchment. Students and Graduates can request electronic copies of their transcript to be delivered to themselves or the school of their choice.
Students, high schools, colleges, and state agencies all rely on Parchment’s trackable, privacy-protected, dependable delivery of student transcripts and student recommendations. Parchment also allows you to search for colleges, get discovered by universities looking for students like you, provides personalized college match results, and offers the opportunity for discussions with other students. Want to see a copy of your current transcript? Request a copy to your Parchment account (unofficial self-view). You must request a new transcript each semester in order to have the most updated copy to view. The current funding model Indiana Commission for Higher Education and Parchment put in place greatly expanded the number of destinations that are available at no cost for currently enrolled students--in fact all electronic transcripts to EVERYWHERE are now covered under the terms of the contract. Alumni will be presented with a fee when placing a transcript order as this new license type covers currently enrolled students only, and a student is considered currently enrolled until August 1st of the year they graduate. The exception to this is self-view transcripts–neither current nor alums will have any fee for these.
Students who take dual credit courses: You will need to request a copy of your transcript from every college you were enrolled in to take those courses to have those grades/credits sent to the college you plan to attend in June after Graduation to be able to use those credits towards that college's Graduation requirements.

Take the test
Colleges may or may not require the SAT or ACT test for the Class of 2022; HOWEVER, students may qualify for scholarships based on certain scores (especially scholarships by the specific university/college), so it may be beneficial to take one and/or the other at least once.
ALWAYS check the websites of the institutions you are interested in for the most reliable information on whether or not scores are required and, if they are, what type of score you need to achieve to go there!
For more information on the SAT and ACT, visit the TESTING tab.
