MARIJUANA: New information on marijuana being seen now is that the marijuana kids are using is a much higher potency then what was used in years past. In the 1960s marijuana being used was about 1-2% THS in the 1980s it increased to about 4-6%. Today’s marijuana averages about 10%. A study done in Colorado found that the cannabis being sold there averaged from 19-30%. Dabs are even worse at 80-95% THC. This is having a radically different impact on users. One of the things being seen is a disease called cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. This generally starts with students having consistent nausea and leads to persistent vomiting at later stages and can be fatal due to dehydration of the body.
